Meet four powerful household cleaning agents less harmful than traditional products
Household agents serving as cleaning products
Conventional cleaning products such as detergent, fabric softener, bleach and washing powder are considered toxic to health and the environment. The vast majority of them contain substances that, if ingested or come into contact (in large amounts) with the user's skin or eyes, can cause serious problems. Not to mention that the chemistry of certain products pollutes the internal environment (see more here).
As an alternative to traditional products, there are less harmful household “agents”, contained in consumer items that serve other purposes. Some of these allies are present in our homes and we are not even aware of it. They are: baking soda, lemon, vinegar, salt and olive oil.
In addition to these, there are four powerful agents that can be used as cleaning products. Follow it below:
Coke soda
The next time you burn rice or anything else in the pan and the food sticks to the bottom of the pan, pour a can of cola soda all over the bottom of the pan while it's still hot. Then place the pan on the stove, over low heat, for a few minutes. The acid from the soda will act on the residues stuck to the pan, facilitating washing;
Toothpaste
Did you know that in addition to brushing your teeth with toothpaste, you can also use it to clean your leather shoes and sneakers? That's right, just separate a gel-free toothpaste, a soft cloth and any dirty sneakers or shoes. Place the paste on the dirty area and rub it with the cloth. Then, remove the residue with a damp cloth (check here for more uses of toothpaste);
Mayonnaise
The first image that comes to mind when you hear the word mayonnaise is of a potato salad or a sandwich. What few people know is that this well-known sauce can help clean up drink rings that form on wooden tables, for example. Just dip a cloth into a mayonnaise jar and rub the ring to spread the condiment, leaving it to rest overnight. At dawn, wipe it off with a cloth (for three more uses of mayonnaise, click here);
denture cleaner
To clean metal items covered with dirt and dust, try using denture cleaner tablets. Dissolve them in a bucket containing warm water. Then insert the metallic items. Let them soak for about an hour. Then just take them out of the bucket and rinse them.
