Molécoola: get to know the environmental loyalty program
An environmental loyalty initiative, Molécoola allows you to exchange clean recyclable waste for points that can be redeemed in the form of products and benefits
Residents of the city of São Paulo can now exchange their recyclable waste for points from the Molécoola environmental loyalty program. The operation is simple: just download the company's application, take your clean recyclables to one of the Molécoola stations and exchange them for points, which will be accumulated in the app. Once accumulated, you can exchange your points for benefits such as products and services.
Molécoola started its operation in the Morumbi neighborhood and for the time being it has only one store, located in Burle Marx Park (next to the food park Fool Marx). It is possible to leave various types of waste there, such as packaging for shampoo, plastic bags, beer cans and soda bottles, carton packs and glass jars, among others. But it is important to remember that recyclables need to be clean to be returned.
The company's idea is to engage people around a sustainable mindset, creating a cycle of environmental loyalty that generates benefits for communities. The company bets on the shared value from recyclable waste, which has the potential to motivate both the recycling industry and the consumption of goods by those who return their waste (through the exchange system for points and these for products and services ).
The correct disposal of waste, as well as reducing the amount of waste produced, is a major concern today. In a scenario of population growth and the amount of waste produced in Brazil, the percentage of only 4% of total waste being recycled is a matter of concern. The Molécoola program is one of the initiatives to rethink this scenario.
