Retro electric bike imitates racing motorcycles

Model is inspired by racing motorcycles in the early 20th century

From a distance it can fool the unsuspecting, but the Icon E-fyer is a bicycle. The difference is that it has an electric motor to give the cyclist a helping hand, without losing the vintage style of early 20th century motorcycles.

The model was created by the American company Icon and is completely handcrafted, including a limited edition of only 50 copies. The design mimics the wooden racing motorcycles used in the 1910s and 1920s.

The E-fyer has a 3.5 kW motor and a 52 volt battery, rechargeable in two hours. The maximum vehicle speed is 57 km/h.

But, of course, being a bicycle, it also has aluminum pedals, not to mention the leather seat and special brakes.

This is the first bicycle produced by Icon, of California, a company recognized for making models of cars and trucks inspired by the style of motoring legends such as the Toyota Land Cruiser and the Ford Broncos.

The retro bike is for sale only in the United States, but the manufacturer promises international deliveries can be negotiated.

The price, as expected, is quite high: US$4,995, equivalent to almost R$12,000. Check out some photos:
