Company launches waterproofing that promises to repel "almost any liquid"

Product demo video already has over 4 million views

The use of non-stick and waterproofing chemical compounds is extremely controversial, raising questions about their benefits against the environmental and health problems they cause. But there is a new product on the market that claims, at least for the time being, has resolved the issue.

The company UltraTech offers Ultra-Ever Dry, a coating that protects the applied surface from water, oil and “almost any liquid”, as stated on the manufacturer's website.

The application process is relatively simple. First, the surface to be waterproofed is cleaned of any kind of dirt and a first coat is applied. Then, after the first coat has dried, a second substance is applied. The surface will be ready approximately 30 minutes after applying the second coat. The result is impressive, see below.

Or...

Ultra-Ever Dry can be an important tool in the fight against waste. As shown in the video above, when the product is applied to surfaces such as funnels, pipes and pipes, the liquid poured over them completely runs off. Nothing is lost.

As waterproofed and non-stick products do not dirty or stain, there is no waste of water to wash these products, nor the indiscriminate use of detergents and other cleaning products that are usually harmful to the environment.

Attention and care

It is important to remember that this is still a relatively new product on the market, which means that it is not known for sure if there is any kind of damage to the environment or human health in the long term.

The manufacturer of Ultra-Ever Dry, in its product safety report, calls attention to a series of safety measures to be taken during the waterproofing process. The use of an air mask, goggles and nitrile gloves is mandatory. This is because exposure to toxic gases released during the application of both compounds can cause irritation to the eyes, upper respiratory tract and skin.

The company also claims that the product, before drying, is fully biodegradable and that none of its ingredients are considered carcinogenic. Even so, some of these compounds have undesirable effects.

One is hexane, whose prolonged exposure can cause nausea and visual and hearing disturbances, among other problems. Naphtha is a petroleum derivative that can cause cancer and butanone that, as explained by the manufacturer, can cause irritation to the eyes, skin and respiratory system.
