Learn how to eliminate drosophila with homemade trap
Smart and efficient way to eliminate the fruit fly, without using industrialized insecticides
After buying fruit, it is common to leave them in fruit bowls so that they ripen faster, at room temperature. However, the unwanted fruit fly, also known as drosophila or drosophila melanogaster always appears.
Those who do not want to deal with drosophila do not need to resort to industrialized insecticide, which can cause several health and environmental problems, as there are more natural alternatives.

Learn how to make a trap to eliminate drosophila in a homemade way:
Necessary materials
- 1 glass container;
- 1 sheet of paper (preferably used);
- 1 fruit (lemon or banana) or 1 honeycomb;
- 1 roll of duct tape.
Procedure
First, place the piece of fruit in the bottom of the container. Next, roll the sheet of paper to form a funnel and insert the tip into the opening of the container. Finally, with masking tape, seal the edges so there is no room for flies to escape.
The trap is ready. Just place it next to your fruit bowl. Flies are attracted to the fruit at the bottom of the pot and descend through the funnel. By the time they want to leave, there will be no room to escape (due to the sealed sides and funnel). After some time, they will die.Image: Katy M Carter
The trap can also be made with a PET bottle instead of a glass jar.
