Car seat + refrigerator = sofa
American designer reuses unused materials exercising creativity
There are no upcycle limits, that is, to reuse old objects that have expired in another function. American designer Adrian Johnson managed to mix car seats and old refrigerators to form a third object: a sofa.
By “putting down” the refrigerator and removing some parts of its metallic structure, the designer creates space to insert a car seat. The unusual combination creates a great visual effect on this sofa made from a refrigerator.
In addition, depending on the models, other amenities are included, such as a magazine rack on the side of the sofa or a support for placing cups and other objects. It even has a model with built-in sound and support for iPod.
