What to do with old cutlery other than just throwing them away? Even with beautiful coatings, these objects wear out over time and end up with a rusty appearance. An alternative in addition to disposal is the upcycle, a technique in which an object not used in its original purpose is transformed into a new objective, with a kitchen craft, for example. Check out some tips on how to reuse old cutlery to make kitchen crafts.

Frame

You can make mirror frames using plastic spoons. The number of scoops needed depends on the size you want to get. With the metal spoons, it is possible to make wall hooks, bag holders, key rings.

See step by step how to make a beautiful mirror frame:
  1. First, measure the diameter of the mirror with the help of a ruler so that you can make the base where the mirror will be placed;
  2. Draw a larger circumference than the mirror on a cardboard;
  3. Cut out the base with the help of a stylus and glue the mirror to it, wait for it to dry;
  4. After that, glue the spoons around the base, one next to the other with hot glue;
  5. Make the second layer of spoons, but this time, they will be glued to the mirror to form a gap.

fruit bowl

Another craft option for kitchen with cutlery is a fruit bowl, with a modern and more elaborate design. For this it is also necessary to use a wooden base, in addition to the old cutlery. Make some openings in the wood so that you can fit the cutlery. If you can bend the cutlery for a bolder look, don't hesitate.

wall hooks

This kitchen craft is easier. Simply nail the cutlery to the wall or to a wooden base of whatever size you want. With this option you can decorate the wood in the way you like best, that is, free your imagination. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you:

  1. Fold your utensils: the easiest way to do this is to place the cutlery in boiling water. As soon as they soften a little, use tongs, fold the cutlery around something small and round (use a small cup);
  2. Paint your pieces of wood – or other material, 1-2 coats of acrylic paint each;
  3. Glue the hook to the back of the wooden base. Glue utensils to the front of the base using as little hot glue as possible;
  4. Ready! Now you have a super original key ring with materials that would go to waste!

With creativity and imagination, it is possible to reuse many of the things that we think are useless and transform them into new objects, such as kitchen crafts.
