Five amazing ways to reuse wood
Artists use and abuse their creativity to make upcycle wooden
Wood is present in our daily lives in the most diverse objects. Tables, chairs, pencils, tools, toothpicks and so on. As versatile as it is, it is not recyclable. In other words, it cannot return to its original form after undergoing artisanal and industrial processes. But that doesn't mean it can't be reused!

Lamp feet

Carving wood is a fantastic skill, isn't it? So see what the designers at Studio Oryx did to enhance a super-antique skateboard... They modeled shoe-shaped struts that hold nozzles and lamps, turning the piece into a unique light fixture. See more photos here.

Collecting wood he finds on the street, Brazilian artist Jaime Prades assembles works that are "new trees", questioning the life cycle of materials that have wood as their raw material. Check out more about the work here.
Skateboards become sculptures

The "shapes", as they are called small wooden platforms of skateboards, end up breaking after so many maneuvers of professional or casual sports. Japanese artist Haroshi had the idea to use this colorful material to create really cool sculptures. See more photos here.
Guitars made with skateboards

Using unused skateboard wood, Argentines Ezequiel Galasso and Gianfranco de Gennaro create guitars that, in addition to looking very impressive, work very well! One of the guitarists of the American band Pearl Jam even used the instrument in a public performance. Brazilian guitarist Andreas Kisser has also tested the unusual guitar.
