We have selected a homemade and natural recipe that is easy to make and that can be customized to your taste. The basic principle of cooking is simple: you will need a fat (vegetable-based butter or oil) and a wax (beeswax or carnauba wax). Flavoring agents and essential oils are optional. Here's how to make a coconut oil-based lemon flavor lip balm:

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil
  • 1 tablespoon of beeswax or 1 teaspoon of carnauba wax
  • 10 drops of lemon essence
  • A small pot and a medium pot to melt and mix (in a bain-marie)
  • A whisk or spoon to stir everything
  • Vessels or tubes to be placed after it's ready

Method of preparation

Chop or grate the wax and place in the smaller pan together with the oils. Heat in a bain-marie in the larger pot until the wax melts and mix with the oils. Once everything is melted, remove your coconut oil lip balm mixture from the heat and add the drops of lemon essence.

The smell will dissipate a bit, so feel free to add a few more drops than listed in the recipe. If you find the mixture starting to set, place it back over the heat to melt again. Allow to cool overnight (or for about 10 hours) before closing them. Ready! Now just use this lip balm with coconut oil daily and say goodbye to dry lips.
