Designer creates chicken coop that can even be installed in apartments

Baptized as "The Moop", the chicken coop is made of pre-molded and occupies an area of 14 m²

There are different types of chicken coops. But have you ever seen one that fits inside an apartment? The model created by the North American architectural firm Nottoscale has a different design from the others. The size is small, but there is a good area for the animals to move around; and the raw material used is innovative because it uses pre-molded wood (which facilitates assembly).

Called “The Moop”, the chicken coop was inspired by modern architecture (which makes use of pre-molded) to design a compact that fits in most backyards and balconies. And even compact, it has enough space for four chickens, and can be equipped with one or two aisles in the shape of a cage. The single-aisle model is 2 m wide by 7 m long (area 14 m²). The version with two aisles, on the other hand, has identical width, but the length is 10 meters (total area of 20 m²).

“The Moop” is made with redwood strip plywood, which is weather resistant and waterproof, in addition to having a ventilated screen around the nest boxes (action of the animal in building its nest). The manufacturer claims that there are no problems for the animals to move between the aisles due to a solid roof over the boxes, as well as pointing out the conditions for the healthy creation of the animals, since the chicken coop comes with a specific feeder and drinker, which maintain the clean water and food.
