DIY: recycled paper seed vases

Learn how to make a recycled paper seedbed and make your home greener without spending anything

Recycled paper pots serve as seedbeds to start making your garden

If you don't have the time and money to go to a garden supply store and buy pots for the seeds you want to plant, how about learning how to make a seedbed using materials? It's easy and doesn't take a lot of time, take a look at the step-by-step instructions:

Necessary materials

  • Several sheets of used paper (preferably used on both sides - newspaper will do);
  • 1 liter of warm water;
  • 1 blender;
  • 12 molds for the vases (shapes or small plastic containers).

Method of preparation

To start, it is necessary to shred the papers very well into small pieces or fillets (this way the fibers act better to form the vase). Place them in a blender, filling it to the brim. Then, gradually insert warm water into the blender - add water as the paper mass forms.

Switch on the appliance and alternate 30 seconds of operation with 30 seconds of pause to mix the paper with the water, in order to better condense the dough. After about five minutes of repeating this process, drain as much water as possible. After that, take the molds and cover them with the "slop", always paying attention to form a vase (see more).

Carefully place a paper towel over the molds made to absorb moisture at the bottom. Let the new pots rest for 24 hours or until they dry. It is best to keep them in a dry and warm place.

Ready! Now just plant the seeds to make your home or garden greener.
