Brazilian brand manufactures 100% natural cosmetics

Idea came from questioning the origin of day-to-day items

Conventional cosmetics can bring several problems to human skin as they contain a series of harmful substances, in addition to harming the environment (see more here). But there are alternatives.

In 2010, Sachi was born, a Brazilian brand that proposes to create handcrafted and natural cosmetics. The initiative came when Sachimi Garcia dos Santos (the brand's creator) began to wonder about the origin of the soaps, creams, and lotions she used daily.

She reports, on her personal blog, that she was startled when she realized that most of the beauty industry uses parabens in almost all products that have a creamy consistency, and even in some types of soaps - these substances are identified as causing diseases such as cancer and allergies.

Since the skin is a huge organ with countless pores, we absorb whatever comes in contact with it, if the molecules are small enough. Once it has managed to enter through the pores, the substance is directly penetrated into the body via blood flow and is distributed throughout the body, having an effect faster than ingestion of food.

Thus, to prevent chemicals that can harm our body from coming into frequent contact with our skin through cosmetics, Sachi follows the policy of hand-manufacturing all its products from natural raw materials, without the use of preservatives. The basis for the manufacture of cosmetics is based on vegetable oils and natural additives. To complete, the soaps are wrapped in Japanese paper which allows the product to be more airy.

"I am aware of the difficulty of producing 100% natural products on an industrial scale at affordable prices, but this initiative aims to put in our daily life a little bit of what nature can really do for us," says Sachimi, on the official website of brand.
