Are you sick in the house? Learn about tips to prevent the spread of germs
Know what to do to prevent germs from spreading
When one of the residents of your house is sick, some time goes by and another inhabitant is contaminated. But there are some nice tips on how to avoid germs at home and keep your whole house from going through a "mini-epidemic".
Tooth and hairbrushes
If your toothbrush is close to the sick person's, the nasty germs will infest it and make everyone else sick too. Quarantine the sick person's brush in a separate drawer or cup so it does not infect healthy brushes. If possible, advise the infected person to use disposable brushes until the disease has been cured. If your family shares hairbrushes, be sure to disinfect the brush handles after the sick person uses them.
Sinks and toilets
If the sick person has diarrhea, vomiting, or both, it is very important that you pay special attention to the bathroom. Clean it at least once a week (especially after "heavy incidents"). Wear gloves while you clean the "throne" and the sink, and after finishing the process, clean the cleaning equipment to get rid of germs.
Knobs
Even if you live in a super modern house, it is impossible that there are no door handles or cabinets in your home. They spread germs very quickly! Once a day, look for doorknobs that have probably been used by the hands of sick people and clean them with a disinfectant substance (learn how to "Make a household cleaner with baking soda").
towels and clothes
Germs don't live on towels for long, but they will survive long enough to make other people sick. Clean towels by scalding them with water at least once a week to rid them of microorganisms. As soon as the sick person's clothes reach the dirty clothes hamper, instruct them to wash them, so that germs do not have time to contaminate the rest of the clothes in the hamper.
Toys
If your little ones are sick, keep an eye out for the toys they use most. Once the game is over, clean them with the disinfectant solution.
In addition to the above tips, make sure your family members wash their hands with soap frequently (at least five times a day). Avoid sharing food, drinks, pillows or pillows.
