Sodium bicarbonate is a chemical compound with impressive properties. Classified as a salt, bicarbonate has a slightly alkaline pH, which makes it can be used as a cold sore home remedy. A cold sore is an infection of the skin inside the mouth and/or throat, which can have several causes, such as local trauma, lack of some vitamins and even temperament problems, such as stress.
