The coronavirus pandemic brought weaknesses and challenges to the community of Pedra Branca, on the island of Cotijuba, in Pará. About 30 people who live there are Da Tribu's partners in the production of sustainable fashion accessories, extracting latex and weaving the threads that bring accessories to life.

Da Tribu is a sustainable fashion business with social and environmental impact. From latex and its unfolding into rubberized threads come pieces that value the economy of the forest, generating income for their communities and preserving biodiversity.

The braiding of this fashion has a thread that leads us to the Pedra Branca Community, located on the island of Cotijuba, in the Amazon region of Pará. It is from there that the latex extracted by Manoel Magno, a 70-year-old community leader who has been working on extracting this raw material for five decades, comes from. And it is also from there that the rubberized threads come from, the soul of Da Tribu's accessories, fabric coordinated by Corina Magno, Manuel's youngest daughter.

The partnership between the community and Da Tribu generates livelihood and directly and indirectly impacts 30 people. There are 16 women and 14 men. Taking responsibility for the quality of life of Amazonian peoples is, in our relationships, motivation and purpose: a guarantee of income for the community and a commitment to keep the forest standing.

In recent months, as a result of the emergence of the pandemic, no sales were made. Committed to guaranteeing the inflow of resources for the families of Cotijuba to cross the next few months, the Tu Pontes, Nós Ponteios campaign was launched.

Similar to campaigns run on crowdfunding platforms, the initiative rewards uniquely designed biojewels, gift cards, and community outings when the pandemic passes.

Thus, each Da Tribu piece celebrates the protection of the forest and the appreciation of traditional Amazonian knowledge, ensuring security and income for communities in this period of crisis.
