Cycle of Lectures: Tietê River - Water, Biodiversity, Pollutants and Perspectives

The purpose of the course is to teach the history, geography and processes that the Tietê River went through, as well as the possible mechanisms to reverse its situation - that of a waste dump site - and how this affects all biodiversity along its path .

Tietê runs a path of about 1,000 km, crosses the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo, as well as the interior of the state, and flows into the Paraná River. During this long journey, different landscapes involving biodiversity, water quality and the issue of pollutants can be observed.

In this way, it will be possible to develop Environmental Education projects, with the main objective of minimizing the harmful effects caused by human beings to this river, which was formerly a place of leisure.
