It seems simple: washing your hands frequently and with great care is the main recommendation of the Ministry of Health for the prevention of the new coronavirus. Simple and accessible, soap is one of the main shields for fighting the pandemic. However, according to a new survey released this Wednesday, the 8th, by Instituto Locomotiva and Data Favela, 80% of favela residents claim they do not have access to basic hygiene products.

  • WHO declares new coronavirus a pandemic

"Making soap for cleaning and soap for personal hygiene at home is easy, fast and cheap", that's what Amanda Grecco, co-founder of Gentle Lab, a company that specializes in giving courses and workshops on natural cosmetics, says.

Amanda says that with only three ingredients, it is possible to make both products. "With a small adjustment in the recipe, it is possible to have a soap to clean the bathroom and kitchen, as well as washing dishes and clothes, or a soap for bathing". To help fight the virus, Gentle Lab (@thegentlelab) will run a free online course to teach participants how to make these two recipes. The class will be on April 25, at 3 pm, via Youtube. You must register from this link (conteudo.gentle-lab.com/aula-gratuita-saboaria-covid) to access the content, in addition to taking on some social commitments:

  • Everything you learn, you will teach others without charging any value for it
  • If you can, donate at least a third of your production to those who need it
  • Perform the procedure with all the care and hygiene measures you learn during the course.
