Kickstand: the office table designed for cyclists

Even at work, you won't let go of your bike

The bicycle, in addition to being a clean and healthy means of transport, is practical. All you have to do is attach it with a chain to a pole or a bike rack and you can take it anywhere. In large Brazilian cities, it also became possible to take them on a subway trip. But if the love for the skinny goes further, a creative novelty allows people to work and ride at the same time.

Trying to reconcile physical exercise and office work, cyclist designers from Cleveland, USA, came up with the idea of replacing the chair with a bike. In fact, the user fits his bike under the desk at the office and places a kind of suspension on the back wheel of his bike. Thus, it is possible to pedal while the daily service is carried out.

Then came the "Kisckstand desk" in two versions: small and large.

The larger table is 115 centimeters high and comes equipped with baseboards that raise and lower the table by 15 centimeters. Its measures are 150 cm x 75 cm and two industrial iron bars connected to the frame support it. They are capable of supporting a weight of 159 kilograms on each side. And the table extends another 25 centimeters for easy assembly and disassembly. The smaller table measures 80 cm x 60 cm and the height and baseboards are the same as the other model. Both tables are made of two-inch, hand-welded steel tubes.

In the view of the creators, the traditional combination with table and chair is losing space to more modern alternatives (another example is the bed attached to an office desk - see more here).

For those interested in purchasing the product, both models are available on the official website. The largest costs around R$3,000 and the smallest approximately R$1,500. In the case of the larger one, there is the possibility that the work table is made of glass, which increases the price to R$ 3,248.
