  3. Make sure the shower and sink faucets are turned off when you're not using them: according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), 60 drops per minute waste approximately 24,000 liters of water per year;
  4. Choose baking soda as a powerful cleaning agent: unlike cleaning products, it's nontoxic, multipurpose, and still inexpensive. How to use it is simple: just mix equal parts of baking soda with water to form a paste. After that, apply to smelly areas of the bathroom and be sure to wash them off with water after use. Take the opportunity to see here the different uses of sodium bicarbonate;
  5. Avoid dispersing odors with aerosols: after doing a "number two", it is difficult to prevent the odor from spreading through the room. See more options here and here;
  6. When installing your shower, give preference to economical models, which have a low flow: for R$ 78 or less, you can considerably reduce your water consumption at home. As a result, you achieve water savings of between 25% and 60%, while also reducing the energy that would be used to heat unused water. Still not satisfied with your water savings? So take the opportunity to understand and calculate your water footprint (an indicator that measures and analyzes individual water consumption) and start taking sustainable measures that save even more your water consumption;
