Plogging: meet sustainable running
Mixing physical activity with sustainable practice, the plogging it's the habit of running around picking up garbage along the way
It is now possible to practice a physical exercise that is good for your body and also helps to take care of the environment at the same time. it is about the plogging , a practice that combines running and garbage collection . To join plogging , simply go for a run or walk equipped with a container to collect the garbage you find lying around along the way - give preference to reusable collection containers such as ecobags, cloth or paper bags. Depending on where you live, unfortunately, you may need more bags than breath for your plogging .

The idea is to take advantage of the time spent running outdoors to do good for the environment. Collecting garbage is a simple gesture, it helps in urban or rural cleaning and also in environmental awareness. In addition, occasional trash pickup stops can be used as an opportunity to do squats and stretches, in addition to the extra weight you carry, which improves the intensity of your workout .

The sustainable running fad started in Sweden, when Swedish environmentalist Erik Ahlström organized a group in Sweden. Facebook to launch the idea. He used a mixture of the Swedish word plocka, which means to collect, with the English term jogging (run), naming the movement of plogging , the act of running around collecting garbage.
O plogging has gained popularity by Instagram, mainly because of the ease of practicing the exercise, something that can be done alone or in groups. Before long, people around the world started posting photos using the hashtags #plogging and #plogga. There are groups that go out to practice plogging regularly not only in Europe, but also in countries like Colombia, India and South Africa.
