Pineapple Peel Tea
Check out the basic recipe for pineapple peel tea. If you want to add something, bring it to a boil at the final stage (in the case of cloves and cinnamon) or just when the infusion is to rest (in the case of leaves such as mint). Give preference to organic and locally produced foods, so you avoid pesticides and unnecessary emissions of greenhouse gases.Ingredients
- 1 pineapple peel
- 1.5 liter of water
- Sugar or honey to taste to sweeten
Method of preparation
- Before chopping the pineapple, use a vegetable brush to wash the skin well. Cut and discard the crown and base of the fruit.
- On a cutting board, peel the pineapple and reserve the pulp in the fridge for another preparation (you can eat right away if you want!). Cut the skin into large pieces and transfer to a medium saucepan.
- Cover the shells with water and bring to high heat. Once it has boiled, reduce the heat to medium and cook for about 20 to 40 minutes, with the lid ajar. The longer you leave it, the stronger the flavor of your pineapple peel tea will be.
- Turn off the fire and go!
If you want to drink the hot tea, it's ready. You can sweeten it to taste, but if the pineapple is sweet it may not even be necessary. If you want to drink ice cream, wait for the tea to warm and refrigerate before drinking.
This pineapple peel tea is super refreshing cold and is a way to make the most of the ingredients of this nutritious fruit.
