In some rooms of the house, such as the bathroom and kitchen, it is common to see an unwanted intruder, known by the names of mold or mildew, and which is caused by the proliferation of fungi. It appears in these rooms because they are the ones that have the greatest contact with humidity, a condition in which mold appears and reproduces. When this happens, it is important to fight it quickly, as there are about 50 types of mold that are toxic to humans, not counting the damage that can occur at home. Removing mold from the wall doesn't have to be a pain: it's possible to remove mold using only natural ingredients.

Instead of using cleaning products considered toxic, follow the step-by-step instructions below to eliminate fungi using simple, accessible ingredients that are less harmful to the environment and your health, as well as being more economical.

How to remove mold from the wall

Ingredients

  • 250 ml of water;
  • 250 ml of vinegar;
  • 1 spray bottle;
  • 1 container containing tea tree oil (You can purchase it at eCycle store);
  • 1 cloth;
  • 1 container containing hydrogen peroxide (optional).

Procedure

Using tea tree oil

The most efficient and natural option for removing wall mold is melaleucatea tree oil), which works extremely well in fighting fungi, bacteria and viruses.

Mix a teaspoon of tea tree oil in a glass of water and place the contents in a spray bottle. If the amount of mold found is too large, add a few more drops of oil. For adults, vacuuming tea tree tea does not cause any complications, but it is recommended not to spray the mixture with children and animals in the vicinity.

Taking this care, shake the spray bottle to dilute the tea tree in the water and spray the mixture directly on the moldy areas of the wall. Leave to rest overnight. It has a potent pine scent, but it wears off in a day or two.

By the next day, the fungi that cause the mold should be dead. Dip a cloth with vinegar and rub it over the mold remains until the area is completely clean. Don't be alarmed if it takes time, as the job of removing mold from the wall is not that simple. When finished, it is best to discard the cloth or wash it in hot water to prevent mold from multiplying in other places where the cloth is used for cleaning.

Using hydrogen peroxide

This mold removing method works best on kitchen utensils, bathroom fixtures, and tiles, but it can also be used on walls .

Mix a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide in a glass of water and place the contents in a spray bottle. Shake well. Apply the product to the surface affected by the mold completely and then let the mixture act for 10 minutes.

To get rid of the mold, soak a cloth in the vinegar and wipe the surface thoroughly. This will also eliminate any residual hydrogen peroxide which, while not toxic, if ingested by children or animals, can cause vomiting.
