Growth: the pot that grows with the plant

Origami-inspired vase can increase area from plant development

Growth: the pot that grows with the plant

Do you like plants? So you know that, as the seedlings gain strength and grow, the pot needs to be changed so that the plant's development is not harmed. But if it depends on the invention of the design studio Ayaskan, it will no longer be necessary to purchase another vase.

Growth: the pot that grows with the plant

Inspired by origami techniques, the brothers who founded the studio developed a vase that can grow as the plant develops. Made with polypropylene (resistant and flexible), the growth (Growth, in English) has several triangular folds in its initial shape - this is when earth and seedling must be placed in the container. From the moment the living being starts to require more space, the owner of the growth can do "unfolding", increasing the area of the vessel - which provides more room for insertion of soil. Finally, there is a third form of innovation, in which all the folds are undone and even more earth can be placed for the comfort of the plant.

When the plant dies, it is possible to use the pot on a new seedling. Nice idea, isn't it? To learn more, check out the project's website. Take a look at some more images:
