soap guide

Despite cleaning, soap can make the environment very dirty.

A lot of people don't know, but the soap product is a big pollutant. We did everything: we looked for the best brands, tested some recipes and even thought about how to avoid consuming the product. Check out our materials and understand what it is and how to use this material correctly.

When it comes to cleaning products, there's not much new. The soaps we use every day for cleaning are always the same. Powder soap, bar soap, coconut or glycerin, and dishwashing detergents. No secret, we can make wiser choices when it comes to shopping and avoid some dangers to the environment. There is no way to guarantee that we are using cleaning products without any harm to nature, but there are simple ways to make the best choices.

Detergents

All detergents sold in Brazil must, by law, contain biodegradable surfactants since 1982, in accordance with the requirements of the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA). The way is to prefer products that have natural compounds and avoid those based on glycerin.

Washing powder

It is essential for consumption, and for it to be good, it must be very white. For this manufacturers add chlorine, this agent is responsible for eliminating many microorganisms that are very important for water balance, result: more environmental impact, see how we can replace soap.

Stone soap

In the case of stone soap, the interesting thing is to observe the surfactant and the raw materials. We must always give preference to products that use renewable components. We have already commented on why these precautions are taken and we always have to think that the more handcrafted the product, the potentially less harmful to the environment. So, nothing like making your own soap. So, in addition to using the old used oil from home, we are still able to use a product that we are sure of what it is made of. The most important thing is to keep the pH neutral (7), so that there is no change in the pH of the water that receives its waste. See on the topic "How to make sustainable homemade soap".

Be creative

The tip is to use more human energy at work: sweep the house and remove surface dust from the furniture using a cloth with water. This is enough to improve the appearance of the place. But there are cases where there is no way - stove fats, for example. An alternative is the old soapy hot water. Although soap is a chemical product, it does not contain phosphate, as do some detergents. Modern vaporizers are nothing more than a technological sophistication of this ancient and efficient cleaning practice.

Another good tip is to remember the old recipes, where the products were the food ingredients themselves. Examples: vinegar is very good for removing stains from fabric; lemon and sugar help remove rust and brighten pans; Baking soda is used to clean sinks, bidets and toilets in bathrooms, in addition to replacing chlorine in the removal of slime. Just let it act for an hour and then remove the lime with a mixture of lemon juice and salt.

Now that you have the information, follow the tips to avoid contamination and more pollution instead of cleaning.
